Ignorance of land status or just lack of respect or truly a mistake that needs owning up to!

So today a claim jumper previously listed on my most wanted page reached out to me in a threatening manner that I was spreading false information and that they wanted me to take down their photo and they argued they were on National Forest land and they had the right to collect “sage grass” to make oil for their home unfortunately for them (two of them) I have the entire conversation recorded with photos etc. from our security detail that was speaking to them on the property all the while admitting that they accessed it before and proceeded to take private property adjacent to the claim.

This was the about the 10th person that week, that said the something similar. Finally I started to question this reality, that people are not always truthful and you can’t take people for their word. I would have reacted differently to this person if they would have admit they were wrong, instead of continuing to lie when I have the recorded conversation and photos. Maybe they did or didn’t really know the land status but they clearly admitted going there the previous year and instead of owning up to it and apologizing rather they threatened me with defamation, whoa pump the brakes… Before I knew about all of the intricacies of land status, private vs public land I to may have crossed a boundary. I know better and would do better with today’s technology and public land records or apps like onX, Gaia or numerous other ways you can find the land status. Gig is up these days, know where you are, and respect the land and private property. See the sage oil collecting equipment below:
